Can I have a Garage Sale? When is the City-wide Garage Sale?
Garage sales are restricted to once per quarter. A City-wide Garage Sale is held in the spring, typically in April.
When is Brush pickup?
Brush pickup is conducted City-wide during the Fall and Spring, typically in early October and early March.
Should I trim my trees near electrical lines?
CPS Energy recommends never trimming your trees near electrical lines. If your trees need to be trimmed away from electric lines call CPS at 210-353-2222 or use their Residential Service Request Form.

How best to stop solicitors from accessing my home?
While you can always place a "No Solicitors" sign on your property, the City also offers a No Solicitation List you can register for. This list is provided to all solicitors who register with the City before entering Shavano Park neighborhoods. If you wished to be placed on the City's No Solicitation List, please fill out the No Solicitation Application Form and return to the Police Secretary at 900 Saddletree Court. For more information you can contact Police Administration at (210) 492.9248.
All registered solicitors within the City of Shavano Park will have an I.D. card, which serves as their permit, showing their photo, name of the company they work for, as well as the length of time that their permit is valid for. If a solicitor is unable to produce this I.D. card and you believe you are being solicited by a person without a City of Shavano Park solicitor registration contact the Non-Emergency Police Dispatch at (210) 804.0110 (Push 1 at the prompt).
I have a Code Compliance complaint or question. Who do I call?
You may call the Police Department at 210.492.9248 or City Hall at 210.493.3478. The Police Department phone is answered between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. M-F except holidays. If you call after hours you may leave a brief message and your phone number and the Code Compliance Officer will call you back the next business day.
My pet is lost. How do I find out if it has been picked up?
All domestic pets found or turned in to the Police Department are turned over to DeZavala-Shavano Veterinary Clinic. You can reach them directly by phoning 210-699-3939. Or you can email your pet info to shavanopetfind1@aol.com to be placed on the watch list.
How do I obtain a Shavano Park resident sticker for my vehicle?
Stop by the Shavano Park City Hall during business hours or call 210.492.9248 for more informations. You will need documentation to show proof of residency (driver's license, Texas ID card, or other proof of identification).
I'm going on vacation. Can I get police to check my home while I'm away?

Can I get fingerprinting services?
The Shavano Park Police Department is not offering fingerprinting services. The public is encouraged to utilize the digitalized services of IdentoGO for their fingerprinting needs. IdentoGo is the approved vendor which meets state and federal fingerprinting guidelines. Appointments for fingerprints can be made on their website at https://www.identogo.com/
How do I obtain a copy of a crash report or police offense report?
Contact the Police Records Clerk at 210.492.9248 or email kgarcia@shavanopark.org. A copy fee may be required.
Do I need a permit for a PODS? (Portable On-Demand Storage Structures)
Yes - the City requires a permit for all PODS. The permit is no cost and allows PODS to be placed on the property for 30 days, with eligibility for a 10 day extension from City Manager.

When are City Council meetings?
The fourth Monday of each month at 6:30PM at City Hall (900 Saddletree). City Council must approve any moving of date and/or time. Check the City calendar for any times changes.
What Type of Government is the City?
The City of Shavano Park is a Type A General Law municipality with a Council-Manager form of government.
How do I request a speed hump on a residential road?
City Council passed City Policy #16- Speed Hump Policy to allow for residents to request speed humps on residential roads. Speed humps can be an effective and appropriate device for safely reducing speeds on certain types of street when installed in accordance with the provisions of this policy. In order for speed hump installation to be effective, they should be located selectively in accordance with defined transportation engineering criteria for the purpose of mitigating documented speeding problems. Proper installation will also minimize driver frustration and encourage safe driving practices. Residents may request consideration for speed humps by filling out a Request for a Speed Hump Investigation application. Only official City of Shavano Park Request for a Speed Hump Investigation applications will be considered.
